Latest Version of SmartColour's iVue to be Demonstrated at FUSE 2008
NEW YORK CITY - April 9, 2008 - The latest version of iVue, version 3.0, a Photoshop plug-in for the SmartColour™ system, will be demonstrated to brand owners and designers who visit the SmartColour booth at FUSE 2008. The most recent version of iVue delivers faster rendering speed and image resolution, new color selection options, and more accurate spot color overprint modeling.
SmartColour iVue™, takes the guesswork out of matching the spot color with substrate on the computer monitor to get the exact color brand owners require early in the design phase. Since iVue operates as an Adobe Photoshop plug-in, SmartColour allows packaging developers to see real color end results anywhere in their workflow..
iVue relies upon the massive SmartColour color database of real ink colors, on common packaging substrates printed by relevant printing processes allowing users to consider multiple alternatives to deliver a specified brand color on one or more packaging materials.
At Fuse, attendees will witness demonstrations of the new version of SmartColour iVue and its many enhancements, including:
á Improved rendering performance (speed and image resolution) for faster
on-screen and printed review of spot color results,
á New options for selection of substrate in rendering for better compatibility
with existing job processing approaches,
á Improved interoperability with network print servers, allowing a fit in even
more customer workflows,
á Smarter gamut mapping for improved calculation of brand color performance
in print or on-screen,
á Enhanced spot-color overprint
modeling to better predict on-press overprint results, and
á New color-picker sorting options for more efficient color selection in the
design and separation processes.
The color-naming convention within the SmartColour Engine (SCE) has also been recast into an organized solution to include a unique color and library identity, thereby permitting greater collaboration among design, prepress and converter operations.
"Nothing is more frustrating to a brand owner than arriving at a press run to find the colors in the design don't match what is printed," said Iain Pike, business leader, Color Management, SmartColour. "These issues are commonplace in the packaging industry, and cause unnecessary delays in product release and order fulfillment, and increase costs for the brand owner and the supply chain. Our solutions, including SmartColour iVue will not only help brand owners avoid these frustrating and costly issues."

About SmartColour
SmartColour allows packaging developers to see real color end results anywhere in their workflow, by displaying real ink color on the chosen substrate and matching the desired color with the ink that will deliver the brand color on retailer shelves.
The SmartColour system lets brand owners, designers, prepress companies and converters organize, standardize, digitize and integrate brand color management into their packaging and production workflow. The system brings together a combination of consulting support, customized brand color standards, software and database systems, and online collaboration tools to create a user friendly and truly revolutionary approach to managing spot colors.
